What will you learn?
The foundation course for complementary therapy. The course provides students with a thorough understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the body so that they have complete knowledge of the structure and functions of each area on which they are working. The course includes holistic massage incorporating the classical movements treating the whole body.

We offer a € 300-course reduction to anyone who has anatomy level 5. You will still need to sit the multiple-choice exam if qualifications are more than 2 years old, you will not need to attend the class.

Student Costs

Frequently asked questions from prospective students.
Do I need to have any other qualifications to do this course?
No. This course is open to all individuals who are over 18 (Under 18 and over 16 will need parental/guardian consent) and can communicate and understand English.
How much will I earn as a Holistic Massage Therapist?
This will depend on how many treatments you decide to do a day and how many days you choose to work. The average cost for a one-hour full-body massage treatment is approximately €60.
Can I work abroad with this qualification?
Yes. ITEC Diploma is internationally recognised.
How long will the course take?
The training is delivered one day a month over 9 months in order to complete the theory and practical elements. Home study and massage practice are essential before the next session. Students will have access to course notes and tutorials. Class notes will be emailed to you, to coincide with the theory delivered that month in order to enhance your understanding and learning experience. You will need to set aside approximately 3 hours a week to study.
How much does the course cost?
The course costs €1500 including the ITEC diploma exam fee. Special offer , option to sit second diploma in Aromatehrapy and just pay exam fee.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. The initial deposit of €200 will secure your place, this is non-refundable. Payment plans have been set up for €200 per month with the exception of December and January as these are difficult financial months. All fees must be paid by March to be eligible to sit the exam.
What will I be qualified to do on successful completion of this course?
You will be qualified to work as a Holistic Massage Therapist in hotels and spas, on a cruise ship, freelance to Beauty salons and sports gyms, mobile therapist or open up your own business.
Do I have to go on work experience?
No. There is no requirement to participate in work placement.
Do I need a uniform?
For a class time no. However, for your end-of-year exam, you will be required to wear a black tunic, black trousers, and black shoes. Comfortable smart clothing is recommended for classes. We find that students prefer to wear a black tunic as they feel more professional during their training.
How will I be assessed?
Your end-of-year exams will be in May. They will consist of 3 theory exams and one practical exam. The theory exams are multiple-choice questions and sealed prior to the examination. ITEC exam board supplies the papers and sets the questions. Exams take place in a formal setting with an external supervisor.
Theory Exams:
Anatomy and physiology – 50 questions pass mark 50%. Mandatory.
Professional conduct and business awareness – 50 Questions pass mark 60%. Mandatory.
Holistic Massage paper- 50 questions pass mark 60%. Mandatory.
Practical Exam
The practical exam is 1 hour and assessed by an ITEC examiner. 60% pass mark.
Case studies- Mandatory
5 clients must be treated 4 times and findings recorded and presented to the external examiner.
Students successful in all areas will receive their Diplomas.
Am I too old to do this course?
No. Students of all ages (over 18) have taken this course. Mature applicants often excel as they are very committed and focused. Our Teachers are simply exceptional at working with all different abilities.
What is the success rate on passing this subject?
We currently have 100% success rate from all students who attended this course. The Teacher delivering this course has a 100 percent pass rate from her students who attended her classes over the last 19 years, she is qualified in Bowen Technique, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, physiatrics, Hot stone and always works way beyond the massage syllabus which contributes to the high pass rate and professional standards.
